Grades
I'll base your grades on class attendance and participation (about 20%) and two short review essays (40% each).
For the essays, please select two conference papers (one from each panel you attended) and write a critique of each paper designed to help the author(s) improve it. You should NOT summarize the paper but rather offer constructive comments. (Conference papers will be posted here.)
Here are some questions to ask yourself as you’re reading the chapter.
Is the writing clear and (relatively) jargon-free? We want intelligent readers—students, professors, and lawyers—to understand the chapter’s content. Feel free to make suggestions along these lines
Is the chapter well-organized? Again feel free to offer suggestions.
Does the chapter use examples from many (or even several) countries or is it largely focused on one legal system? We’re looking for truly comparative work.
Does the chapter make suggestions for future work? We want the chapters to be forward looking.
I’ll share your comments with the authors—anonymously if you prefer.
Each essay should be no longer than 3 pages, double spaced with 1-inch margins, using a 12-point serif font (such as Times New Roman). You must return your essays by Thursday, January 25, 2023.
