Compulsory Retirement

#1a.
1. I have assigned one constitutional court to each student.
2. Determine whether the judges on this court have life tenure or not.
3. Determine whether the judges on this court must retire when they reach a certain age (e.g., 75). If the answer is yes, specify the age of mandatory retirement.
4. Specify the year this court was established; and specify the year compulsory retirement went into effect. (The years may be the same.)
5. Email this information to Scott Hendrickson by 5 pm on January 25.

#1b.
1. Explore the age database (which we have emailed to you). I.e., use the data to answer any questions that interest you. Detail your questions and answers.
2. Based on the data, in-class readings, and any other material you deem relevant, address this question: Should the United States require its federal judges to retire when they reach a specified age (e.g., 75)?
3. Email your work to Scott Hendrickson by 5 pm on February 18. Note: You are limited to 10 double-spaced pages—including notes, references, and figures/tables. Use either Bluebook or APSA citation style.
